Individual DFWP courses

Each drug-free workplace (DFWP) training program includes two or more courses, assembled for a specific training purpose. Individual courses are built around learning objectives for a particular audience.

CAFJ-03: Common Drugs of Abuse

This drug-free workplace (DFWP) course examines legal and illegal drugs that are commonly abused.

Learning objectives

Learners who complete this course will be prepared to:

  1. Discuss psychoactive drugs, and why they are often abused
  2. Provide facts about stimulants, or "uppers", including caffeine, nicotine, amphetamines and cocaine
  3. Provide facts about depressants, or "downers", such as ethanol, depressants, opiates and inhalants
  4. Provide facts about drugs with mixed effects, or "all-arounder", including cannabinoids, hallucinogens and steroids
