Our employee education programs for the drug-free workplace (DFWP) help employers meet the commitments in their substance abuse policies, the requirements for state certification, and the provisions of associations and contractors.

PAE1-02: Alcohol and You

This course describes how drinking exposes workers and workplaces to risks and costs. It dispels some common myths about alcohol and drinking. And provides up-to-date, accurate information to help employees make sound drinking decisions. Along the way it provides facts about: how the body absorbs, distributes and eliminates alcohol; beverage alcohol content; blood alcohol concentration; levels of intoxication; impairment rate factors; and drinking behaviors. Learners can also confidentially assess their own drinking using the CAGE tool.


This program will benefit employees who:

  • Have a basic understanding of drug-free workplace programs, alcohol, and abused substances, AND
  • Are interested in sound decisions about drinking and drug use for themselves, co-workers, or family members
